The Duca di Casalanza estate is situated in the Treviso province, and more specifically in the town of Mogliano Veneto. The entire property comprises 280 hectares, from which, after careful division, 35 hectares of vineyard have been identified.
In fact during 2000 an ambitious project was undertaken, a most fascinating challenge: the adoption of an extreme method of vine dressing with 9700 plants per hectare!
In an area where by tradition, model vineyards are made up of 1000/1500 plants per hectare, the planting of 9700 signified an act of revolution and as well as this the overall height of each of the estate's vines has been lowered from 1.5 to 0.5 metres from the ground.
All this has of course brought with it new requirements, and, for the first time in the territory's history, the estate has been completely renovated and adapted to this extremely modern and pioneering method of viticulture.
In order to oversee this radical viticultural and enological renovation, Dr. Maurizio Quadrelli, the estates agronomist can count on the expert collaboration of Dr. Stefano Chioccioli, one of the Italy's finest winemakers.
Obviously, all of the vineyards are carefully selected for clones and vine management scrupulously follows the most modern methods available, in the aim of producing the highest quality of grapes, whilst carefully respecting the environment.
